On X-Windows (Tcl 7.4 and Tk 4.0 or greater). Version 1.0 in 1995. The author, John Williams (U.S.A.), also made (before) Oberon on Windows and worked on the E-mail Ataxx and E-mail Hexxagon. And he wrote the first Web page about Ataxx (see Links)..
John Williams, the first to understand and exploit
7x7 board, blue and red pieces colours (red human begins), many blocks configurations (random or same last one). Pieces move by drag and drop.
Many parameters : save / restore (from historic), 5 levels, unlimited undo / redo, human-human play, layout of pieces. Parameters may not be saved.
This game may migrate on Windows, with the software Tcl & Tk. However, all options are not operational. Particularly, it is impossible to play against the computer (only human against human).

On Linux, I first unzip the gz archive (here with ark, of Kde), and then I did as written in the readme file, except to launch the programm by wishx /usr/local/lib/tkataxx (the wish4.0 is ancient, it is also good with wish8.0).
